Overview

The Sharda School of Bio-Science & Technology (SSBT), Sharda University, through its Department of Biotechnology, Department of Food Science & Technology and Department of Life Science, is organizing an Expert Lecture on “Sustainable Development Goals and Green Practices” on 2nd September 2026.

This expert lecture will introduce newly admitted students to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and their relevance to biotechnology, food science, and life sciences. The session will highlight the importance of sustainable resource utilization, environmental conservation, waste reduction, and responsible innovation. Students will explore how green practices and sustainable technologies can contribute to addressing global environmental and societal challenges. The lecture aims to inspire students to adopt environmentally responsible practices and develop a sustainability-oriented approach throughout their academic and professional journeys.

Objectives of Event

  • To introduce students to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and their significance in addressing global challenges.
  • To create awareness about sustainable and environmentally responsible practices in biotechnology, food science, and life sciences.
  • To highlight the role of green technologies in resource conservation, waste management, pollution reduction, and sustainable production.
  • To encourage students to understand the environmental and social impacts of scientific innovations and adopt responsible approaches to research and development.
  • To inspire students to integrate sustainability principles into their academic activities, future careers, and everyday practices.
