Overview

Sharda School of Nursing Science and Research is organizing a one-day Nutrition Exhibition at Panchayatan village under the Health Abhiyaan—"Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan"—from 17th September 2025, to 2nd October 2025. The program is designed to promote awareness of balanced diets, prevent nutritional deficiencies, and facilitate dietary modifications for lifestyle-related diseases, and media broadcasting partner Suno Sharda 90.8 FM.

The B.Sc. Nursing 5th-semester students will conduct cooking demonstrations on iron-rich diets, Well-balanced meals, and therapeutic diets for Hypertension and Diabetes. Each recipe will be explained in terms of its ingredients, preparation method, nutritional value, and specific health benefits. The event will also feature educational stalls, posters, and models that highlight the role of nutrition in disease prevention and health promotion.

 

This initiative aims to empower the community with practical knowledge about preparing nutritious, affordable, and locally available meals, while also providing students with experiential learning in community nutrition counselling and health education.

Objectives of Event

  • Demonstrates recipes for Iron-rich diets that help prevent and manage anaemia (SDG 2 – Zero Hunger (end malnutrition, especially in women and children, SDG 3 – Good Health and Well-being (reduce maternal and child morbidity through better nutrition).
  • To promote the concept of a Well-balanced diet for maintaining overall health (SDG 3 – Good Health and Well-being (promote healthy lifestyles and reduce the burden of non-communicable diseases).
  • To explain the nutritional content and health benefits (SDG 4 – Quality Education (providing nutrition literacy and awareness) and SDG 3 – Good Health and Well-being.
  • To encourage families to adopt healthy cooking methods using locally available, affordable foods, SDG 12 – Responsible Consumption and Production (sustainable use of resources and reduction of food wastage), and SDG 3 – Good Health and Well-being.
