The Sharda School of Media, Film & Entertainment (SSMFE) is pleased to organize an exclusive industry-academia connect visit titled:

“Behind the Screens: Learning Television News at News18 National News Channel”

This visit is designed to immerse students in the real-world environment of a national newsroom, enabling them to experience firsthand the workflows, challenges, and dynamics of live television news.

Students will gain an in-depth understanding of how stories are curated, packaged, and delivered on air. The visit includes newsroom briefings, live studio observations, and demonstrations in PCR and MCR.

Through interactive sessions with industry professionals, students will explore both editorial and technical workflows, enhancing their skills and confidence for future media careers.

This initiative underscores SSMFE’s commitment to practice-based learning, bridging classroom knowledge with the realities of broadcast journalism.

Objectives of Event

  • To help students explore behind-the-scenes operations of a national news network.
  • To impart knowledge about technical workflows in PCR and MCR and their impact on live broadcasts.
  • To expose students to the fast-paced environment of a newsroom and its decision-making processes.
  • To develop awareness of the teamwork and coordination required between anchors, producers, and technicians.
  • To prepare students for internships and professional placements in leading broadcast organizations.
