Department of Mathematics and Data Science, Sharda School of Engineering Science, Sharda University, Gr. Noida is celebrating National Mathematics Day 2025 (the 138^th Birth anniversary of Srinivasa Ramanujan) on 22^nd December 2025. On this occasion, a brief talk on National Mathematics Dayis scheduled.

National Mathematics Day: It is celebrated on 22^nd December every year to mark the birth anniversary of legendary Indian Mathematician, Srinivasa Ramanujan. Since ancient times various scholars have made significant contributions to Mathematics including Aryabhata, Brahma Gupta, Mahavira, Bhaskar II, Srinivasa Ramanujan, etc. At a very young age, Srinivasa Ramanujan showed the signs of an unfolding genius, and his contributions regarding fractions, infinite series, Number theory, Mathematical analysis, etc. set an example in Mathematics.

The main objective behind the celebration of National Mathematics Day is to raise awareness among people about the importance of Mathematics for the development of humanity. We can't ignore that several initiatives are taken to motivate, enthuse, and inculcate a positive attitude towards learning Mathematics among the younger generation of the country.

Prof. S K Yadav, Professor Mathematics

Prof. S K Yadav is a distinguished professor, author, and education administrator with over three decades of teaching and research experience. An Alma mater of BITS Pilani, IITR and Hyderabad University. Prof. Yadav had been chairman and honorary secretary of Computer Society of India. Currently he is senior faculty member in Mathematical Sciences in Aditi Mahavidyalaya, University of Delhi. Dr. Yadav has held key positions, including former President of Shri J. J. T. University and higher education Ambassador of Bhutan for two terms. He has guided over 100 doctoral scholars and published more than 277 research papers, 39 patents, and 63 internationally renowned books. Prof. Yadav is Editor-in-chief of 11 well indexed, high impact factor international journals and an active member of 36 professional organizations and apex bodies. His research work in Artificial intelligence, machine learning and data science has been recognised worldwide.
