Overview

GLOBONOMICS Trade Organization Meet (GTOM 1.0 – 2026 Edition) is an academic simulation organized by Globonomics, the Economics and International Business Club of SSBS. The event is designed to replicate the functioning of major global trade institutions such as the World Trade Organization, International Monetary Fund, and World Bank. Through structured committee sessions, policy debates, negotiation rounds, and analytical discussions, participants will assume the roles of member countries and stakeholders to deliberate on contemporary trade issues, economic cooperation, and global policy frameworks.

Objectives of Event

1.     Knowledge Enhancement – Provide participants with deeper insights into international markets, global trade institutions such as the World Trade Organization, and contemporary trade policies through structured simulations, discussions, and expert sessions.

2.     Global Perspective – Encourage understanding of cross-border business practices, cultural diversity, and the impact of globalization on national and international economies.

3.     Practical Exposure – Conduct simulation exercises replicating global economic negotiations to connect theoretical concepts of international economics with real-world policy scenarios.

4.     Skill Development – Develop analytical, research, negotiation, and communication skills essential for careers in economics, trade policy, and international business.

5.     Networking Opportunities – Facilitate interaction with academicians, policy experts, and peers to broaden academic and professional engagement.

6.     Competitions & Simulations – Organize debates, policy drafting sessions, and committee deliberations to sharpen critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.

7.     Awareness & Policy Advocacy – Create awareness regarding current global economic challenges and sustainable trade practices influencing local and global communities.
