Dear All,

Department of Mathematics & Data Science (SSES) in collaboration with IIC Sharda University is organizing an expert lecture on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) on 16/04/2026. The expert talk will be on "From idea to Intellectual Property: Protecting innovation in academia".  Intellectual property rights are like any other property right. They allow creators, or owners, of patents, trademarks, or copyrighted works to benefit from their own work or investment in a creation.

 

 

Objectives of Event

·       Familiarize the students with basic IPR laws in India.

·       Enumerate the crucial aspect of IPR laws relating to vesting and protection of rights of the owner.

·       Acquaint the students with procedural nuances pertaining to protection of IPR.

·       Develop in the students the understanding of necessary aspects of IPR.

·       Able the students learn about National and International perspective on IPR Law.

Speaker Details:

  • Dr. Mohit Sahni, Associate Dean Research and Head IPR cell, Sharda University Dr. Mohit Sahni has done MSc (Physics) from IIT Roorkee and PhD from MNNIT Allahabad. Dr. Sahni is professor in department of Physics. He has published more than 80 papers in highly reputed journals, the number of patents granted are 10 and the total patents published is 40. His expertise is in synthesis of multiferroic nanoparticles and growth of thin films. In addition to academic and research activities, he also worked as Chief Warden, Associate Dean student welfare. Currently he is working as Associate Dean Research and PhD cell Head at Sharda University.
