Overview
Sharda School of Nursing Sciences &Research in collaboration with S-Vyasa University, Bangalore, Dishabodh Foundation, Bharatheeya Nurses and Allied Sangh (BNAS) is organizing a Nasha Mukth Bharath Abhiyan(Drug free campus awareness Programme) on 8th August 2025.
Recognizing the serious issue of substance abuse, the Government of India launched the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan (NMBA) on 15 August 2020 under the National Action Plan for Drug Demand Reduction (NAPDDR). Initially targeting 272 high-risk districts, based on data from the National Survey on Substance Use and the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), the campaign has now expanded to cover all districts across the country. NMBA envisions a drug-free, healthy, and disciplined youth, aligning with the nation’s broader goals of social well-being and development.
Objectives of Event
· To educate students about the ill effects of substance abuse on health, society, and economy.
· To enable students to act as youth ambassadors for substance abuse prevention in the community.
· To encourage peer-led sessions and group discussions on drug de-addiction and healthy lifestyle choices.
· To involve students in community outreach programs, rallies, health talks, and school-based interventions under NMBA.
To understand and advocate for the role of rehabilitation and counselling in de-addiction.
