This session is designed to equip participants with essential self-defence skills, fostering confidence and resilience, and reinforcing the empowering message that they are capable of protecting themselves. Through this initiative, we aim to promote self-reliance and enhance personal safety awareness among participants.
Objectives of Event
Protection from Harm
- The primary objective of self-defence is to protect oneself from physical harm or injury. This involves using defensive techniques and strategies to shield yourself from aggressors, whether they are attacking physically or threatening your safety.
2. Escaping Dangerous Situations
- Self-defence is not just about fighting back, but also about creating the opportunity to escape a dangerous situation. A major goal is to de-escalate the threat and leave the area as quickly as possible, prioritizing safety over confrontation.
3. Empowerment and Confidence
- Self-defence training helps individuals, especially those who may feel vulnerable (such as women, children, or the elderly), gain a sense of empowerment and confidence. Knowing how to protect oneself can reduce feelings of fear and anxiety in everyday situations.
4. Use of Proportional Force
- One of the critical principles of self-defence is to use proportional force in response to the level of threat. The objective is to stop the attacker without causing excessive harm, only using the level of force necessary to neutralize the threat and ensure safety.
5. Legal and Ethical Défense
- An important goal of self-defence is to stay within legal boundaries and act ethically. Self-defence aims to protect oneself while following the law and ensuring actions taken during an attack are justifiable in case of legal scrutiny.
