Overview

About the event

The Department of Biotechnology, Sharda School of Bioscience and Technology, Sharda University is organizing a special demonstration and training event to mark the installation and operation of a 7 L laboratory-scale bioreactor/fermenter at the university. This event aims to provide a hands-on learning opportunity for undergraduate, postgraduate, and Ph.D. students, enabling them to gain practical insights into bioprocess development, fermentation control, and scale-up strategies. The session will be conducted by a technical engineer from the manufacturer, who will demonstrate the setup, calibration, sterilization, inoculation, parameter control (pH, DO, temperature, agitation, and aeration), and data acquisition processes. Through this interactive session, students will be able to bridge the gap between theoretical understanding and industrial-scale applications, enhancing their competencies in microbial cultivation, enzyme production, metabolite synthesis, and process optimization. This initiative aligns with the department’s vision to strengthen industry-oriented learning and research infrastructure, fostering a deeper understanding of bioprocess engineering principles and preparing students for real-world biotechnological challenges. The event will also serve as a platform for knowledge exchange and interdisciplinary collaboration, promoting innovation and experiential learning in modern biotechnology.
