Overview

The event “Threads of Empathy” clothes donation drive is being organized to develop an understanding of community engagement and participation among students, in collaboration with the NGO Sibani Foundation. This initiative focuses on marginalised and underprivileged communities, particularly daily wage earners living on the margins of society, within the fast-paced urban environment of Greater Noida.

Through the donation of unused or used yet wearable clothing, the initiative seeks not only to provide material support with dignity but also to sensitise students to values of kindness, humility, and social responsibility. By engaging directly in this effort, students are encouraged to recognise and inculcate empathy for individuals whose work sustains everyday urban life. The initiative also promotes the reuse and repurposing of clothing, reinforcing sustainable practices and responsible consumption.

Sibani Foundation is a non-governmental organization committed to working with marginalised and vulnerable communities, with a focus on social welfare, community development, and sustainable support systems. Through its grassroots engagement, the foundation addresses everyday challenges faced by underprivileged populations and facilitates initiatives that promote dignity, inclusivity, and long-term social impact. Its collaborative approach enables meaningful connections between institutions and communities, ensuring that support reaches those who need it most.

Aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), this initiative contributes to SDG 1 (No Poverty), SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities), SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals). “Threads of Empathy” aims to strengthen community bonds, encourage inclusive values, and empower students to become socially conscious citizens committed to sustainable and equitable development
