Overview

On the auspicious occasion of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Jayanti on 15th April 2026, Sharda University is organizing a Self-Defence Workshop and Awareness Rally 

with the active participation of NCC Cadets of 31 UP Girls Battalion NCC, with the objective of empowering young women and promoting awareness about their rights.

The workshop aims to educate girls about their right to freedom and self-defence, with reference to relevant legal provisions such as the Right of Private Defence under Sections 96–106 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

The programme will include practical self-defence training sessions along with an awareness rally to spread the message of women’s safety, dignity, and empowerment.

Objectives of Event

• To create awareness among girls about their legal rights and personal safety.
• To promote the importance of self-defence in daily life.
• To build confidence and courage among young women.
• To encourage social responsibility and active participation through awareness rally.
• To spread the message of equality, dignity, and empowerment on the occasion of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Jayanti.
