Overview
The Department of Allied Health Sciences (SSAHS), Sharda University, in collaboration with the SDG Cell and IQAC-Sharda, successfully organized the “Campus E-Waste Collection Drive & Responsible Disposal Initiative – Mission LiFE (Reduce E-Waste)” from 30 May 2026 to 05 June 2026.
The initiative was conducted to promote environmental sustainability and encourage responsible management of electronic waste among faculty members and staff.
The drive focused on the collection of discarded electronic items such as mobile phones, chargers, batteries, earphones, cables, and other electronic accessories for safe and eco-friendly disposal through appropriate recycling channels. The event also served as an awareness campaign highlighting the adverse environmental and health effects of improper e-waste disposal and the importance of adopting sustainable waste management practices.
Through active participation and community engagement, the initiative reinforced the principles of Mission LiFE and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), encouraging participants to contribute towards environmental conservation, resource recovery, and the development of a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable campus.
Objectives of Event
- To promote awareness about the environmental and health impacts of improper e-waste disposal and educate participants on the importance of responsible electronic waste management.
- To encourage the collection and safe disposal of obsolete electronic devices and accessories through environmentally sustainable recycling practices.
- To support Mission LiFE and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by fostering resource conservation, waste reduction, and environmentally responsible behavior within the university community.
- To strengthen environmental stewardship and community participation by motivating faculty and staff to adopt sustainable practices that contribute to a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable campus.
