Overview

Human Rights Day is celebrated every year on 10 December to commemorate the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights by the United Nations. The day reminds us that every person regardless of caste, religion, nationality, gender, age, ability, or economic status has the right to live with dignity, freedom, equality, and justice. The official theme of Human Rights Day 2025 is “Our Everyday Essentials”. Human rights include the right to education, healthcare, safety, expression, fair treatment, and protection from discrimination and exploitation. The aim of the day is to create awareness, build respect for human values, and encourage collective responsibility to ensure that no person’s rights are violated. Human Rights Day encourages individuals, especially students and youth, to become responsible global citizens who stand up for fairness, peace, and humanity. Keeping in mind the theme for the day the Mental Health Nursing Department of Sharda School of Nursing, Sharda University, will be performing Nukkad Natak, role play/skit and quiz on human rights of the Human Rights Day with a blissful hope that it serves as a platform to build awareness, encourage responsible citizenship, and inspire young minds to respect, protect, and advocate for human dignity, equality, and justice within society.
