Overview

The Blood Donation Pledge is a noble initiative organized by Sharda School of Nursing Science & Research (SSNSR), Sharda University, with the aim of motivating individuals to voluntarily commit themselves to the life-saving act of blood donation. Blood is an irreplaceable resource that cannot be manufactured, and every unit of donated blood has the potential to save multiple lives. Through this pledge, participants will not only promise to donate blood regularly and safely but also spread awareness among peers, family, and the community about the importance of voluntary blood donation. This initiative seeks to eliminate myths and fears associated with blood donation, instill a sense of social responsibility, and promote health equity by ensuring availability of safe blood for patients in need, including accident victims, surgical patients, individuals with blood disorders, and mothers experiencing childbirth complications. The event also serves as an opportunity for nursing students and faculty to act as ambassadors of health promotion and humanitarian service. By pledging, participants become part of a collective effort to build a reliable pool of voluntary donors, reduce dependence on replacement donations, and strengthen the healthcare system
