Overview
Sharda School of Design is organising lecture on Indian Knowledge System (IKS) to strengthen indian knowledge and thoughts as a guiding light for the policies. IKS aims to provide students and faculty with exposure to ancient indian knowledge and holistic development.
Objectives of Event
The objectives of IKS are to:
- To familiarize students with the definition, scope, and significance of the Indian Knowledge System as a holistic body of traditional wisdom and practices.
- To trace the origins of Indian knowledge traditions from the Vedic, Buddhist, and Jain periods to the classical and medieval eras.
- To explore the interdisciplinary nature of IKS, covering philosophy, science, mathematics, medicine (Ayurveda), architecture (Vastu Shastra), arts, literature, and environmental sustainability.
- To analyze how Indian epistemology, metaphysics, and ethics shaped ways of thinking, problem-solving, and creativity.
