Overview

Sharda School of Law, Sharda University, under the aegis of the Competition Commission of India (CCI), New Delhi, is organizing a Panel Discussion on ‘Competition Regulations in the Digital Era’ on Friday, March 7th, 2025 at Chanakya Auditorium, Block 7 (2nd Floor).

Targeted Audience

Students, research scholars, any other person having interest in Competition Law.

Objectives of Event

  1. To examine how competition law applies to digital markets, including e-commerce, fin-tech, and platform-based businesses.
  2. To discuss challenges like market dominance, data monopolies, and anti-competitive practices in the digital space.
  3. To analyse recent regulatory changes and compare India’s approach with global competition law frameworks.
  4. To highlight CCI’s role in ensuring fair competition and addressing anti-competitive behaviour in the digital sector.
  5. To provide practical insights to students on compliance, enforcement, and policy implications of competition law in the digital marketplaces.

Expected Outcomes 

  1. Participants will better understand the complexities of competition regulations in the digital era. 
  2. The discussion may generate recommendations for policymakers and regulators on improving competition law frameworks. 
  3. Students will learn about legal compliances and fair competition practices in the digital marketplaces.
