This event on the topic “Emotional Expression Across Cultures: Europe vs. South Asia" aims to explore the cultural differences in emotional expression between European and South Asian societies, providing postgraduate psychology students with insights into how cultural norms, values, and social structures shape emotional communication. The session will be led by an international expert in cross-cultural psychology, fostering a deeper understanding of emotional diversity and its implications for psychological research and practice.

Objectives of Event

•To understand Cultural Differences in Emotional Expression – Examine how emotional expression varies between European and South Asian cultures based on cultural frameworks such as individualism vs. collectivism.

•To explore Psychological Theories – Discuss relevant psychological theories related to emotion.

•To analyse Research Findings – Review key research studies comparing emotional expression in these regions, highlighting similarities and differences.

•To boost practical Applications – Discuss how these cultural differences impact areas like therapy, interpersonal relationships, and workplace communication.

•To foster interactive Discussion – Engage students in case studies, role-playing, and discussions to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world scenarios.
