Overview
Dear All,
Students of Pro Bono Club, Sharda School of Law, in collaboration with District Legal Services Authority Gautam Budh Nagar, are participating in the upcoming National Lok Adalat on 08th March 2025 (Saturday) at Sarjapur Court, Gautam Budh Nagar.
Lok Adalat means People’s Court. Lok Adalat is governed by the Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987, and the National Legal Services Authorities (Lok Adalat) Regulation, 2009. One of the key functions of the Legal Services Authority is to conduct Lok Adalats, whereby any pending cases relating to the following matters can be taken up for adjudication through mutual consent of the disputing parties.
Objectives of Event
To raise awareness about the Lok Adalat.
· To outline the functionality of Lok Adalats.
· To provide the required guidance to the general masses about free legal aid and Legal Services Authority Act, 1987.
Expected Outcomes
After the visit to the National Lok Adalat, Students shall be able to:
· Understand the concept and acquire advanced knowledge of Lok Adalat.
· Understand the Alternative Dispute Resolution Mechanism.
· Identify the practical solutions of pity offences in the judicial process.
· Practical learning on the various legal issues.
