Overview

 

In alignment with the commitment to ensuring a safe and inclusive learning environment, the School of Education, Sharda University is organizing an Invited talk on the Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) Act, 2013. The session aligns with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 5: Gender Equality, which emphasizes eliminating gender-based violence and discrimination. This initiative aims to educate students about the legal provisions, rights, and mechanisms available for preventing and addressing sexual harassment in educational institutions and workplaces, fostering an environment of safety and respect.

 

  

Expected Outcomes

· Enhanced awareness of the legal framework surrounding sexual harassment.

· Empowered students with knowledge about reporting and addressing grievances.

· Promotion of a culture of respect and gender sensitivity within the institution.

· Strengthened commitment to SDG 5 by promoting gender equality and safe environments.

Objectives of Event

1. To create awareness about the POSH Act and its significance in achieving gender equality (SDG 5).

2. To educate students on recognizing and reporting sexual harassment.

3. To provide insights into the legal framework and institutional mechanisms for grievance redressal.

4. To promote gender sensitivity and foster a safe academic environment in line with SDG 5 targets.
