Overview
Sports Society, DSW is excited to announce that the try-outs for ALL INDIA INTER UNIVERSITY, Wrestling Freestyle Championship 2024, for the students & players of Sharda University, Greater Noida will be held on 25th November 2024. This is a fantastic opportunity for aspiring athletes to showcase their skills and potentially become a part of the Sharda University team.
Objectives of Event
· Escape and Reversal: If on the bottom, a wrestler aims to escape or reverse their opponent’s control to regain a more advantageous position.
· Physical Conditioning: Wrestlers must maintain strength, endurance, agility, and mental focus to outperform their opponents.
· Strategy and Technique: Success in amateur wrestling relies heavily on mastering techniques like takedowns, throws, and transitions between positions.
· Takedowns and Takedown Defense: Successful takedowns or preventing them are crucial for controlling the pace of the fight.
· Submission Holds and Escapes: Wrestlers often look for submission opportunities (e.g., joint locks) or attempt to escape from dominant positions.
· Striking: Wrestlers need to combine their grappling skills with striking techniques to succeed in MMA.
What to Bring: Athletic wear, Proper Wrestling dress, All guards, Water bottle, positive and Sportsmanship behaviour! (Note: without a proper kit no student will be allowed to take part in the selection trial of the said game/sport).
