Overview
Department of Life Sciences, Sharda School of Basic Sciences and Research is organizing two-day workshop on Good Lab Practices for Ph.D. scholars and non-teaching staff (lab assistants) of the Life Sciences Department.
Objectives of Event
- Ensuring Data Integrity and Accuracy: To ensure that all data generated in the laboratory is accurate, reliable, and reproducible as accurate data is essential for valid scientific conclusions and regulatory compliance.
- Maintaining Safety and Health Standards: The major objective of GLP is to make the students aware of protect the health and safety of laboratory personnel and the environment. Minimizing exposure to hazardous substances and maintaining a safe working environment prevents accidents and injuries.
- Enhancing Quality Control and Assurance: It is mandatory to implement robust quality control and quality assurance measures. The continuous monitoring and evaluation of processes and results ensure high standards of quality in laboratory operations.
- Improving Traceability and Accountability: Maintaining comprehensive and accurate records of all laboratory activities and data i.e. detailed documentation provides a traceable record of work performed, facilitating audits, reviews, and reproducibility of experiments.
- Promoting Ethical Conduct in Research: Research must be conducted ethically and responsibly. Students must understand and follow ethical practices while doing the scientific research work.
- Implementing Effective Waste Management: Non-teaching (Lab Assistants) staff as well as research students must throw laboratory waste responsibly to minimize environmental impact. Proper waste disposal reduces environmental contamination and complies with environmental regulations.
