Overview

This essay writing competition aims to gather creative minds and encourage a discourse about the holistic implications of large scale religious gatherings, in honour of the ‘Maha Kumbh Mela’ commencing from 13 January in Prayagraj this year. Participants are encouraged to research and ponder upon the historical, psychological, sociological, cultural and spiritual implications of such practices, and how it affects the people of India in totality.

Objectives of Event

The main objective of the event is:

  • To encourage in-depth research and critical thinking about the multifaceted nature of the Maha Kumbh Mela and large-scale religious gatherings.
  • To foster an understanding of the historical, psychological, sociological, cultural, and spiritual significance of these events within the Indian context.
  • Celebrate and preserve India's rich cultural heritage & feel proud to beIndian.
  • Encourage interdisciplinary understanding and holistic perspectives.
  • Improve writing skills and communication abilities.
  • Develop critical and analytical thinking skills.
  • Foster respect for diverse beliefs and promote inclusivity.
