Overview
Educational Tour is proposed as a part of the Student’s READY (Rural Entrepreneurship and Awareness Development Yojna) programme for Rural Agricultural Work Experience (RAWE) for 4th year, VII semesterstudents and V semester, 3rd year students of B.Sc. (Hons.), Agriculture. The proposed educational tour is planned for Shimla and adjoining places.
The tour is planned from 17th of October, 2024 till 21st of October, 2024. This educational tour shall encompass a range of educational activities, including visits to Agriculture related Centre, ICAR Institutes etc. The places to be visited are
Ø Himalayan Forest Research Institute (HFRI), Shimla
Ø ICAR-KVK (Krishi Vigyan Kendra), Rohru
Ø ICAR- Central Potato Research Institute (CPRI)
Ø All India Network Project on Agricultural Acarology (AINP on AA)
This trip will foster cultural exposure, social skill and personal growth.
The purpose of this tour is to providea valuable learning experience outside the classroom, allowing the students to gain practical knowledge and exposure to real world applications of their studies with Agricultural Sciences. In addition to the educational benefits, this tour aims to enhance students’ social skills, cultural awareness, and field knowledge of different agricultural and horticultural domains and for the development of teamwork abilities along with academic growth.
Objectives of Event
- To enhance experiential learning for better understanding of the agricultural and horticultural domains.
- To get the knowledge of location specific agricultural techniques for growth of potato and other Himalayan specific crops including fruits for sustainable production.
- To develop teamwork abilities along with academic growth in the field of agriculture.
