Overview
Sharda School of Design, Architecture and Planning (SSDAP) at Sharda University is organizing a One-Day Physical Training Program on UPECBC-2018 & technical assistance on UPECBC demo building projects in Collaboration with UPSDA/UPNEDA. As you are aware, the Government of Uttar Pradesh, through letter no. 1198/LXXXVII-Add. Sources Energy Deptt. dated July 26th, 2018, has notified the “Uttar Pradesh Energy Conservation Building Code-2018” (UPECBC-2018), which was incorporated into the state’s building bye-laws in January 2019. According to the scope of UP ECBC-2018, all government and commercial buildings with a plot area exceeding 1000 sqm and a minimum built-up area of 2000 sqm must comply with its provisions. The tentative agenda and master trainers (speakers) for the training program have been provided by the EEB Cell, UPNEDA. This program will also enhance the sustainability skills of the participants.

Objectives of Event
This event has following objectives: -
1. To highlight that 75% of electricity consumption in the building sector is used by residential buildings, with a fourfold increase in the past 20 years.
2. To apply the mandatory code to all residential buildings in Uttar Pradesh on plots of 250 sqm or larger.
3. To establish minimum building envelope performance standards with ENS / ECBC – R (Part I) to limit heat gains in Uttar Pradesh and provide baseline calculations for ENS compliance.
4. To introduce the BEE Star Labelling system for residential buildings and guide on how to achieve this certification.
