Overview
The Department of Biotechnology, Sharda School of Engineering & Technology (SSET) in going to organize an Industrial Visit to ‘Priyagold’ (Surya Food & Agro Ltd.) for its students of M.Tech in Biotechnology, M.Tech in Food Process Technology and M.Sc in Genetic Engineering on 21st November 2024.
Surya Food and Agro Limited, known for its popular brand Priyagold, is a leading Indian company in the food processing industry. Objectives of Event
- Understanding Food Processing Techniques: To observe and learn about the various food processing methods employed at Surya Food and Agro, including the production of snacks, bakery products, and edible oils, with a focus on technological advancements and quality control measures.
- Exploring Product Development: To gain insights into the product development process, from research and innovation to market-ready goods, and understand how the company tailors its products to meet consumer demands and industry standards.
- Analyzing Manufacturing Processes: To examine the company's state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities and understand the step-by-step process involved in large-scale food production, including automation, packaging, and distribution systems.
- Understanding Quality Assurance Practices: To explore how Surya Food and Agro ensures product quality and safety, including the implementation of food safety standards, regulatory compliance, and continuous monitoring through quality control procedures.
- Sustainability and Innovation in Food Industry: To understand the company’s approach to sustainability, including waste management, energy efficiency, and sourcing of raw materials, while also learning about innovative practices in food technology that support sustainable growth in the food industry.
