Overview
Sharda School of Agricultural Sciences has proposed educational tour for 7th Semester Students to Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Cholas, Block Dadri, Gautam Buddh Nagar, Uttar Pradesh, under Course Curriculum of Student's READY (Rural Entrepreneurship and Awareness Development Yojna) programme for Rural Agricultural Work Experience (RAWE).
Kishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Gautam Buddh Nagar is a district level institution (Farm Science Centre) engaged in transfer of latest agricultural technologies to the end users for bridging the gap between production and productivity. It works through partnership mode with farmers, allied departments and agencies. The KVK, Gautam Buddh Nagar was established on June 2005 under the administrative control of the Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel University of Agri. & Tech., Modipuram Meerut – 250110 (U.P.) and has started functioning from 17th August, 2005. The total geographical area of the district is 1442 sq km with cultivated area of 82100 ha in which 99% is irrigated. The visit shall explain the various issues related to agricultural sector, and can spread awareness about various practices related to crop growth, protection, crop waste management, horticultural crops, animal husbandry, dairying, aquaculture, fisheries for the benefits of the students of Sharda School of Agricultural Sciences.
Objectives of Event
Ø To provide introduction to KVK Mandates and activities.
Ø To acquaint the students about Soil Health: Sampling and Soil Testing; Soil Health Card Scheme
Ø To understand Entrepreneurship through Processed and Value Added Products
Ø To learn about Nursery cultivation of Horticultural crops
Ø To understand employment opportunities under Fisheries, Aquaculture, Animal husbandry and dairying
