Overview
The Department of Civil Engineering, SSET, is organizing a five-day expert lecture series for its UG and PG final year students from November 4th to November 8th 2024 by Dr. Ashok Kumar Ahuja, Retired Professor of Civil Engineering, IIT Roorkee, who is an renowned expert in this area. Wind Engineering focuses on the effects of wind on the built environment, including structures like buildings, bridges and towers. It involves the analysis of wind behaviour and its interaction with these structures to ensure their safety, stability, and comfort.
Objectives of Event
- To enable participants to design wind loads (Pressure coefficient method and force coefficient method, providing them with practical experience in applying theoretical wind engineering concepts.
- To develop the participants' ability to analyse and interpret wind flow patterns and their impact on various structural designs, enhancing their technical competency in identifying potential wind-induced issues.
- To guide participants in interpreting experimental and simulated data, including pressure coefficients, wind speeds, and structural responses, with a focus on accurately assessing structural safety and performance under different wind conditions.
