Department of Environmental Sciences (SSBSR) is organizing a visit for the 1st year students of M.Sc. Environmental Sciences and M.Sc. Water Resources and Environmental Management to Kheri Village, Greater Noida, Gautam Buddh Nagar, Uttar Pradesh on Saturday (03/02/2024) for conducting “Community Connect Programme”.

About the Event:
The programme is an initiative designed to bring people from diverse backgrounds to build relationships, inculcate resource sharing, and work in collaboration to address specific community needs. The main goal of the programme is to foster a more connected and vibrant community and bring forward practical and achievable solutions to counter various environmental issues faced by the villagers. The programme is intended to create a sense of belonging in the students after gaining first-hand experience of living conditions and perspectives of villagers. This can help students discover their passions, refine career aspirations, and gain valuable skills by engaging with real-world problems and investigating promising solutions at the grassroot level.

Objectives of Event

  • To identify the needs and resources available with the community and empower them to address environmental issues in a collaborative and sustainable manner.
  • To educate/train the villagers on adopting sustainable practices for environmental management (e.g., waste reduction, water conservation, adopting renewable forms of energy, composting, etc.).
  • To provide solutions for improving the health and well-being of villagers by identifying environmental issues that negatively affect their health.
