Overview

World Consumer Rights Day is an annual event celebrated on March 15th to raise awareness about consumer rights and needs. The day is an opportunity to celebrate the power of consumers and demand that their rights be respected and protected. John F. Kennedy served as an inspiration for International Consumer Rights Day. Consumer rights are based on the following: the right to information, the right to choose, the right to safety, the right to be heard, the right to redress, and the right to consumer education. These rights are outlined in the Consumer Protection Act, 1986 in India. To celebrate World Consumer Rights Day, individuals and organizations can raise awareness about consumer rights and needs, organize events and campaigns, and demand that the rights of all consumers be respected and protected.
