Overview

Sharda, School of Nursing Science & Research (SNSR), Sharda University is organizing “ANC Assessment and Counselling” on 22nd March 2024.

Assessment and counselling education among nurses within the context of ANC (Antenatal Care) plays a pivotal role in ensuring the holistic well-being of expectant mothers and their unborn children. ANC assessment involves a comprehensive evaluation of various aspects including maternal health, foetal development, and psychosocial factors. Nurses equipped with appropriate education are adept at conducting thorough assessments, which may encompass physical examinations, laboratory tests, and psychosocial assessments to identify any risks or concerns. Moreover, counselling education empowers nurses to provide empathetic support and guidance to expectant mothers, addressing their concerns, and promoting healthy behaviour. This encompasses educating mothers about nutrition, prenatal care, childbirth preparation, and potential complications.

Objectives of Event

  • Assessment of Health Status: ANC aims to assess the physical, mental, emotional, and social health status of individuals.
  • Identification of Risk Factors: Through assessment, ANC seeks to identify any risk factors that may predispose individuals to health problems.
  • Early Detection of Health Issues: One of the primary objectives of ANC is to detect health issues at an early stage.
