The Department of Pediatrics SMS&R is organizing the “World Breastfeeding Week 2024” celebration from 01.08.2024 to 07.08.2024.
The theme for this year is “Closing the Gap: Breastfeeding Support for all”
Details of the same are outlined below:
Objectives of Event
To sensitize all the staff, students and the community about the importance of breastfeeding. The aim of this event is to spread awareness amongst the population regarding the benefits and correct technique of breastfeeding and also to ensure that exclusive breastfeeding is done by all mothers including the working mothers for first 6 months after childbirth. Emphasis is also on the fact that the mothers should be well supported by all family members and also at their workplace, in order to ensure exclusive breastfeeding.
