Overview

Sharda School of law, Sharda University is organising a Guest Lecture on “Implementation of Muslim Law in Indian Courts: Contemporary Issues and Challenges” on 27th February 2025.

 

In which participation of 2th year students is compulsory and around 250 Students are participating from the Sharda School of Law, Sharda University.

Objectives of Event

  1. To understand the historical evolution and constitutional basis of Muslim law in India.
  2. To examine the contemporary challenges in the implementation of Muslim personal law in Indian courts.
  3. To analyze judicial trends and landmark judgments concerning Muslim law.
  4. To explore the impact of socio-political changes on the practice and interpretation of Muslim law.
  5. To discuss gender justice concerns, particularly regarding marriage, divorce, inheritance, and maintenance.
  6. To identify possible reforms and legal solutions to address the challenges faced in the implementation of Muslim law.

Expected Outcomes:

  1. A deeper understanding of the issues and challenges in implementing Muslim law in Indian courts.
  2. Identification of key legal and policy gaps in the current framework.
  3. Recommendations for legal reforms and best practices for adjudication.
  4. Academic discourse leading to the publication of research papers or a conference proceeding.
