Programme Description

One’s entire livelihood depends on Agriculture  – food, clothing, and shelter (necessities of life) exist solely because of it. Being educated in agriculture allots for making better choices for our health and our future! This workshop will allow students to delve into agriculture with more hands on experience than ever before and help them in choosing career options amongst the diverse areas of agriculture.

Prof SVS Chaudhary

Prof Chaudhary has been Assistant Scientist (FLA), Sr. Scientist (FLA) and Principal Scientist (FLA) at Dr. Yashwant Singh Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry, Nauni, Solan-HP before joining Sharda University in September,2020. He also worked as Professor and Head, Department of Floriculture and Landscape Architecture, College of Horticulture and Forestry, Neri, Dr. Yashwant Singh Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry, Solan.

Prof DS Rana

Prof Rana joined the position of Scientist  at  ICAR-IARI, New Delhi and subsequently held the position of Senior Scientist and Principal Scientist/Professor, Agronomy till his superannuation in January, 2017.  After retirement, he handled an ICAR-Project on Crop Diversification as ICAR-Emeritus Scientist 2017-19. He also served as National Consultant, in the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Govt. of India, 2019-20.

Dolly Wattal Dhar

Dr. Dolly Wattal Dhar has been a Principal Scientist at Centre for Conservation and Utilisation of Blue Green Algae and also Professor at Division of Microbiology, Indian Agricultural Research institute. She has been working on various aspects of cyanobacteria and other microalgae for last thirty years. Her areas of interest have been on basic and applied research on physiology, ecology and related aspects including strain selection and improvement for nitrogen fixing potential, value added products like biopolymers, natural colours, proteins, etc. in cyanobacteria.

 Prof HS Gaur

He is an eminent nematologist, teacher, researcher and manager of higher education institutions.  He earned his M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees  with Golden Jubilee Medal at  Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi in 1975. He carried out post-doctoral research in England. He was a Visiting Scientist at Rothamsted Research, UK.; Project Coordinator; Head of the Division of Nematology;  Dean, Post-Graduate School & Joint Director, ICAR- IARI, New Delhi  and Vice-Chancellor, SVPUAT, Meerut, before joining Sharda University in November, 2017.

Prof Saleem Siddiqui

Dr. Siddiqui started his career as Assistant Scientist at Cotton Research Station, CCS HAU on Feb. 1984 and then moved to the Department of Horticulture, CCS HAU in April 1984. He was promoted to Associate Professor and Professor in 1997 and 2005, respectively. He joined the Centre of Food Science and Technology (CFST), CCS HAU in June 2002 and since September 2012 was serving as Head of the Department till his Superannuation on May 31, 2019. He also had the additional charge of Dean-COBS&H, CCS HAU.
