SKILL DEVELOPMENT PROJECT -FINANCIAL LITERACY

India under the G20 presidency has called for a focus on inclusive agenda keeping the vulnerable citizens in mind. The skill development project- Financial Literacy undertaken by Sharda School of Business Studies (SSBS) embodies the same spirit and seeks to spread financial literacy among the under privileged communities. The knowledge of how to spend, save and borrow, how to invest and accumulate wealth etc are skill sets that needs to be developed among them so as to empower them to make smart and effective financial decisions as well as protect their consumer rights.

This Skill Development Project on Financial Literacy for the underprivileged communities would be undertaken during the period of February -March 2023.

The objective of the project are to enable underprivileged communities:

  1. To make appropriate financial decisions about investing, saving, managing debts, child education etc.
  2. To educate them about the use of financial principles as a key to breaking the cycles of debt
  3. To acquire Life skills alongside financial principles: How to access banking services, repay loans responsibly, and planning skills, such as how to create investment and savings plans for their families.

Educational Trip to Mother Dairy @ Mother Dairy Plant

Sharda School of Nursing Science and Research organizes a community connect to Mother Dairy, located at Patparganj, New Delhi, is one of the largest liquid milk Plant in Asia.

Mother Dairy sells milk and milk products (Milk, cultured products, Ice creams, Paneer, and Ghee) at a national level through its sales and distribution networks for marketing food items.

After completing this visit students will be familiarized with the milk production process and various quality control techniques.

Objectives of the Event:

  • The purpose of this industrial visit is to bridge the gap between theoretical training and practical learning and provide an interactive learning environment outside the classroom.
  • The students would get an opportunity to familiarize themselves with the milk production process and various quality control techniques.

Through GATE students will get a chance in PSU’s as well as pursuing a higher degree from the renowned institution of India (IIT’s, NIT’s etc).

Apart from it the students who levy to work in product based companies, it will help them in their technical interviews.

Inventions are the bedrock of innovation, and innovation can be protected through intellectual property rights. Intellectual Property contributes enormously to our national and state economies emotions. Intellectual Property Rights refers to the legal rights granted to the inventor or manufacturer to protect their invention or manufacture product. These rights aim to protect intellectual property by allowing the creators of trademarks, patents, or copyrighted works to benefit from their creations. This program allows the participants to understand an overview of Intellectual Property Rights, the mechanism to file patents and copyrights. It is designed to help academicians, scholars to face the challenges.

Sharda School of Nursing Science and Research is participating in CAN SUPPORT 2023

Can Support’s Walk for Life –Stride Against Cancer is organized to raise awareness about the rising incidence of cancer in India, to raise funds for and to show solidarity with those suffering from cancer. More than 5000 students from various schools and colleges participated in Walk for Life .Can Support is North India’s largest home-based palliative care service provider and a WHO awarded organization.  We provide free palliative and supportive care services to cancer patients since 1996. Since inception our teams have brought medical, emotional, social and spiritual to the homes of  people battling cancer. we now have 32 teams and currently, look after 2600 patient at any time in Delhi Haryana and UP.

The objective of Event:

  • To sensitize students and staff to Social Causes.
  • Raise awareness about cancer.
  • To adopt a healthy lifestyle from a young age.
  • To honour survivors and raise funds to help them in rehabilitation and re-integration in society.
  • To motivate and inspired student to participate in social activity

This year’s theme focuses on the recommendations of Our Common Agenda to strengthen global solidarity and to re-build trust in government by “Overcoming Barriers and Unleashing Opportunities for Social Justice”.
International Social Justice Day, observed annually on February 20, is an international day dedicated to raising awareness of issues related to social justice and human rights. On this day, individuals and organizations around the world are encouraged to work to promote justice and equality for all people, regardless of race, gender, sexuality, economic standing, or other factors. The day is an opportunity for people to unite to call for greater justice, freedom, and respect for human rights. It is also a chance to recognize the efforts of those who have worked to create a more equitable society and to identify the remaining challenges that need to be addressed.

Objective of the Event:

• To encourage the sharing of stories, experiences, and knowledge on social justice issues.
• To support and uplift those striving for social justice in their communities.
• To provide resources, tools, and education on how to advocate for social justice.

Outcome of the Event:
• The Students will have an opportunity to understand the importance of social justice and its impact on the world.
• How the Social Justice can promote social equity by addressing inequality and promoting access to opportunities.
